CEBU, Philippines — The Department of Social Welfare and Development-7 recently inked a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Municipality of Minglanilla, Cebu for the utilization of the Listahanan 3 database.

DSWD-7 regional director Shalaine Marie S. Lucero and Minglanilla Mayor Rajiv V. Enad signed the MOA.

Enad is grateful for the constant support of the Department for the municipality.

With their #BetterAndBrighter Minglanilla, indigent Minglanillahanons will be immediately provided with the available programs and services through this data.

Lucero said that this is another milestone of the field office as she hopes that more local government units in Region 7 would follow and partner with DSWD to have the Listahanan 3 database since it would be a very big help in identifying potential beneficiaries for their social protection projects or services.

Minglanilla is the first LGU in Region 7 to sign a MOA with the Department for the latest Listahanan data. The MOA is a crucial requirement for the Listahanan 3 data sharing.

Listahanan, or the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR), is a database management system of DSWD that identifies who and where the poor are through a systematized way of collecting data from households across the nation.

In Central Visayas, there are 454,348 numbers of poor households out of 1,079,141 households assessed.

Minglanilla has a share of 5,108 identified poor out of 9,446 assessed.

Listahanan 3 started in 2019, and the final data was launched in 2022. — (FREEMAN)
