Motorcycle driver dies after falling off a cliff

CEBU, Philippines — A motorcycle driver died after falling off a cliff in the Toledo Wharf Road, sitio Akasya, Purok Santol, Brgy. Manipis, Talisay City while transporting a passenger Saturday night.

The victim was identified as Alvin Villamor, 30, a construction worker based in Brgy. Pooc, Talisay City and a resident of Tuburan, Cebu.

The passenger was identified as Maricel Empuertu Abranilla, 35, with live-in partner and four children, currently residing in Colis Street, Brgy. Tabunoc, Talisay City.

According to a report from the Talisay City Police Station (TCPS), Villamor together with Abranilla were travelling to Toledo City in a motorcycle.

When they reached the place of incident, Villamor’s vehicle reportedly slid due to slippery road with pebbles.

Abranilla was able to jump off the motorcycle before Villamor and his motorcycle fell off the cliff.

At around 8:10 p.m. a duty personnel of City of Talisay Traffic Operations Development Authority (CT-TODA) then reported the incident to the traffic section of TCPS which they responded to along with other units.

When the units arrived, they then began rescuing Villamor, while Abranilla signed a waiver to not to be transported to the hospital.

When they got Villamor’s body, the personnel from the Talisay Emergency Services, then started to perform CPR but the body did not respond and he died due to severe injuries in his body. — (FREEMAN)
