CEBU, Philippines — The Department of Education-7 has geared up for the conduct of the national learning camp for enrichment and remediation.

The remedial classes will be for grades 1 to 6 and grades 9 to 12 while the learning camps will be for grades 7 and 8.

By the first week of July, DepEd-7 regional director Salustiano Jimenez said schools will already know who will go into remedial classes for three weeks.

“By the first week of July, makita na nato who will be into remedial classes and learning camp,” Jimenez said.

The learning camps, on the other hand, will focus on English, Math and Science.

There are three different camps, the enhancement, consolidation, and intervention camps.

“Enhancement camp katong mga bata nga ganahan, mga bright na nga mga bata but they want to be enhanced more on English, Math and Science,” Jimenez said.

The consolidation camp, on the other hand, is for those who want to learn more, and the intervention camp is for those slow learners.

“Learners nga nakapasar but dili pa kaayo naka master sa mga competencies, maoy nay consolidation camp and and katong mga naay grades nga 75 to 78 ari sa intervention camp,” added Jimenez.

Jimenez also said teachers are also encouraged to serve in this national learning camp and remedial classes.

“Dili sila e-demand na motungha but we encourage our teachers,” Jimenez said.

Teachers involved in the said learning activities will be given service credits. — (FREEMAN)
