Anti-drug operation yields P8.3 million shabu

CEBU, Philippines — Authorities have confiscated at least 1,225 grams of suspected shabu worth P8.3 million in a joint buy-bust operation Monday night on E. Sabellano Street, Barangay Pardo, Cebu City.

The joint operation was conducted by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-7 and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7.

At least three individuals were arrested and were identified as Anthony John Mata Adlawan alias Daot, a resident of Sitio Kimba, Barangay San Roque, Talisay City and was the subject of buy-bust operation; Archie Rosas Marollano alias Poloy, a resident of Purok Sayaw, Barangay San Roque, Talisay City; and Amid Montecino Ganatalao, a resident of Sitio San Roque, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City.

Adlawan claimed that he was involved in this illegal activity for a month. He said he was only asked and paid to get the illegal drugs.

Adlawan said the one who ordered him is based at the Cebu City Jail Male Dormitory and that he would only call him “P.”

He said he would only chat with someone and gave him the number of the person to contact.

According to the information obtained by the authorities, Adlawan also known as Daot is a trustee, keeper or "bodegero" of illegal drugs of a certain Puloy, a detainee of Cebu City Jail.

Puloy is a native of A. Lopez, Barangay Calamba, Cebu City and had a family in Talisay City.

According to source, Adlawan can disposed of one kilo of illegal drugs per week and he received those illegal drugs upon the instruction of Puloy.

Adlawan was recruited by Puloy to be his keeper of illegal drugs through the girlfriend of the latter. — (FREEMAN)
