CH workers’ bonus, gifts now ready

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  Cebu City Hall employees’ year-end bonus and cash gift has already been prepared.

City Administrator Suzanne Ardosa announced that Mayor Michael Rama already signed the memorandum for the processing of such a bonus.

“The memo is directing all admin officers to start processing for the year-end and cash gift,” said Ardosa.

This, however, is for regular and casual employees.

The latest data from the city’s Human Resource Development Office show there are 1,367 permanent or regular employees in the city government and 3,488 casuals while 200 are coterminous, 45 are contractual and 2,263 are job orders.

Ardosa, however, emphasized that the release of it will be after November 15.

This as the accounting office had asked for some considerations since they have limited manpower.

Releasing it later, however, is also good so that there will be something to use for Christmas, Ardosa said.

Regular and casual employees are expected to get as much as P20,000 each.

For the job orders, Ardosa said, there are also funds set aside for them already as gratuity bonuses.

However, Ardosa said, they are still waiting for the guidelines for bonuses specifically for job orders.

At that moment, they are looking into giving a minimum of P3,000 for them although the city government hopes to give more for them.

Meanwhile, the city government is also preparing for its Christmas get-together already.

“Baryo fiesta to be pursued..kay wa man to nadayon last year kay na Odette man ta,” Ardosa added.

Along with this, there will be inter-department contests including a contest for the best decoration among offices.

Giveaways, like ham, rice and prizes during their party have already been bid out as well. — GMR (FREEMAN)
