CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City Police Office has apprehended over a hundred violators of the new curfew hours on the first day.

On Thursday night alone, there were 129 adults apprehended for different violations of the health protocols while at least 26 were minors were caught violating the new curfew hours, which was raised to 12 midnight.

Police Lt. Colonel Wilbert Parilla, deputy director for operations of CCPO, said that there has been a slight decrease in the number of violators against the health protocols during the enforcement of the extended curfew hours.

“Pero despite sa atong pahimangno ug sa kadugayon, naa ra gihapon,” said Parilla.

Despite the extended curfew hours to midnight, the police were still able to apprehend 127 out of 129 violators.

“Bisag taas na kaayo atong curfew, atong gitaas og alas 12, mao gihapon ang pinaka daghan kay mora’g nag relax na gyud,” said Parilla.

He emphasized that the Cebu City residents were already informed on the new directives issued by Mayor Michael Rama.

As to prohibition of entry among unvaccinated individuals in establishments, Parilla said they will conduct information dissemination since they are ready to implement it on January 1, 2022.

Starting January 1, only fully vaccinated individuals will be accommodated in specific venues in Cebu City, whether indoor or outdoor.

These include amusement parks or theme parks; cinemas and movie houses; limited face-to-face or in-person classes for basic education subject to prior approval of the Office of the President; and limited face-to-face or in-person classes for higher education and for technical-vocational education and training; funfairs/peryas or kid amusement industries; venues with live voice and wind-instrument performers and audiences such as karaoke bars, clubs, concert halls, and theaters. — GMR (FREEMAN)
