Manipis Road closed for 10 days
CEBU, Philippines — Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas Jr. has ordered the closure of Manipis Road for 10 days following a latest landslide Thursday morning.
Gullas met yesterday with the officials of Barangay Manipis, City of Talisay Traffic Operations Development Authority, Talisay City Police, Department of Public Works and Highways, and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
During the meeting, Gullas said they decided to implement road closure for 10 days to give way to the clearing operations.
Gullas said that bikers are still allowed but only up to the Camp 4 bridge.
He also directed the barangay captains of Camp 4 and Manipis to check those affected, especially the workers, so that they can be provided with transportation passing through Naga-Uling Road.
The road in Sitio Langoyon, Barangay Manipis is supposed to be opened this week after it is cleared of the debris of the previous landslide.
Gullas said the benching of the mountain slope along the road is set to start today. —Banat News/GMR
