It was around 11 p.m. when the Borbon Police Station received a report from a 45-year-old woman who claimed to be the wife of the barangay chairman.

CEBU, Philippines —  A barangay captain and a 33-year-old female believed to be his mistress were arrested for adultery complaint after they were caught in a room in Barangay Bili, Borbon in northern Cebu last Wednesday night.

It was around 11 p.m. when the Borbon Police Station received a report from a 45-year-old woman who claimed to be the wife of the barangay chairman.

Responding to the report, the police and the wife were able to discover the barangay chairman identified as Eleuterio Peloramas Comendador, 49, and the woman (name withheld), a resident of Barangay Poblacion, inside a room in their ancestral house.

Police Staff Sergeant Ernesto Pablo, Borbon Police Station desk officer, said that upon the discovery, Comendador got angry and allegedly threatened to kill his wife and daughters.

"Nagdulog gyud kuno daw sila sa balay sa iyang mama," Pablo told The Freeman.

"Sa iya (Comendador) ra pud ning kasuko seguro nga part kay tingali wa ta kabalo," Pablo added on the verbal threat of Comendador to his wife.

Pablo further said that they do not have the idea as of this writing if the relationship between the arrested people has been going on for a while now.

Comendador is currently the barangay captain of Bili, Borbon. Pablo said that it’s up to the local government unit if Comendador will face sanctions should he will be proven committing the adultery charges.

The woman arrested was reportedly a single mother.

The two arrested persons are currently detained at Borbon Police Station.

According to Pablo, Comendador and his family, including his wife, is currently talking it out whether or not the appropriate charges will be filed. — GMR (FREEMAN)
