17-year-old accused of raping 8-year-old cousin nabbed

CEBU, Philippines —  Elements of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) City Intelligence Unit have arrested a 17-year-old male suspect for raping his eight-year-old cousin in Roosevelt, Busay, Cebu City.

CIU chief, Police Lt. Colonel Randy Caballes, said the suspect was arrested at around 11:30 a.m. yesterday by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the court.

The rape incident reportedly happened last year.

Drugs

Meanwhile, the same unit also arrested live-in partners in a buy-bust operation in Lahug, Cebu City early dawn yesterday.

Caballes identified the suspects as Walter Navaja Villa, 47, and his live-in partner, Cherry May Talon Casicas, 32, both are residents of Kamputhaw, Cebu City.

Confiscated from the suspects were 15 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P102,000 and one .45 caliber pistol with a magazine loaded with four live ammunition.

Villa was released from jail, also of illegal drug charges, last November 2020, according to Caballes.
