More victims show up vs freelance contractor

Iris Hazel Mascardo - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  At least seven more victims have come forward to file a complaint against a freelance contractor who was arrested for filming three minors he asked to perform sexual acts at San Carlos Heights in Barangay Quiot, Cebu City last Sunday.

The additional complainants, ages 15 to 18 years old, showed to the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) yesterday to formally file a complaint against Jose Nuñez Baylosis Jr.

The complainants—three females and four males--- claimed they have mustered courage to report their experiences with the suspect after learning the latter’s arrest and the rescue of three victims.

A mother told the police her 15-year-old daughter was among the victims of Baylosis.

The Freeman withheld to protect the victim.

The mother said Baylosis would prey on unsuspecting minors by intoxicating them. He would bring them to a secluded area where he will ask them to perform sexual acts while filming it.

According to the mother, she was told that there were several others who also succumbed to the suspect’s perversion. She urged the other victims to also come out and file a complaint.

The mother said Baylosis forced her daughter to perform sexual acts with the other minors by threatening to post online her previous videos. A father of another victim told the same story.

He said his daughter first met Baylosis online who invited her for a drink.

CCPO director Colonel Josefino Ligan directed the victims to undergo counseling with the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Additional complaints for violation of Republic Act 9208 otherwise known as Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act as amended by R.A. 10364 (Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons) will be filed against Baylosis. — FPL (FREEMAN)
