CTU campus, Olympic-standard grandstand soon in Liloan
CEBU, Philippines — A number of big-ticket projects had been lined up for the municipality of Liloan in northern Cebu to provide access and to improve the town’s educational system.
Aside from the Cebu Technological University (CTU) campus that would soon rise in the town of Liloan, an Olympic-standard track oval and grandstand and an Olympic-sized swimming pool are also underway in Barangay Jubay.
Site preparations are being done on the municipal government-owned property in Liloan, where the CTU extension will be constructed.
This is part of the thrust of Fifth District Representative Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco and wife, Mayor Christina Frasco, to provide access to tertiary education.
“Mayor Christina and I are ecstatic to begin this project together that will take Liloan to greater heights,” Rep. Frasco said.
An initial budget of P20 million was already included in the 2020 General Appropriations Act for the project’s first phase, and is set to get subsequent funding.
Bidding was completed for the project, signaling the start of the gargantuan undertaking in the first-class northern municipality.
“It’s the first of its kind in the north,” said Mayor Frasco.
The rooms below the grandstand will serve as classrooms for the CTU extension.
Education has always been the priority of Rep. Frasco who when he was mayor initiated a scholarship program that is now benefiting thousands of students in 10 towns and one city within Cebu’s fifth district. — Banat News Copy Editor, KQD (FREEMAN)
