Guidelines on barangay workers’ incentives out
CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu provincial government has released the guidelines for the distribution of incentives to barangay health workers, barangay nutrition scholars, and barangay tanods.
In order to qualify for the P4,000 monthly incentive, the BHW and BNS must be a bona fide resident of the barangay and has been on active service for at least one year by December 31 of last year.
They must also be accredited members of the local BHW association, which means that they have already received basic trainings.
The list of qualifying BHW and BNS must then be signed by the local chief executive and the municpal/city health officer.
Aside from financial incentives, the province will also be providing GSIS accident insurance and kits and packed goods to BHW and BNS.
According to the guidelines, BHW and BNS are qualified to receive insurance coverage and kits, even those not having reached one year in service. A separate masterlist of all BHW and BNS of the barangay shall be submitted to the City/Municipal Health Office.
Four copies of the masterlist of qualified BWH and BNS for financial incentives and for insurance coverage shall be submitted by each barangay to their local government units.
Barangay tanods over 60 years old who have served for more than one year by December of 2018 are also set to receive P3,000 in financial incentives per month.
The financial incentives for the frontline barangay health workers will be sourced from the recently approved supplemental budget.
An appropriation of P50.8 million has been allocated for these volunteer frontline workers. (FREEMAN)
