Seven-month-old fetus dumped off Busay cliff
CEBU, Philippines — A fetus was found dumped in a cliff in Sitio Roosevelt, Barangay Busay, Cebu City Saturday afternoon.
The fetus was male and six or seven months old, said Police Chief Master Sergeant Antonio Din of the Mabolo Police Station.
The baby was wrapped in a pink cloth and placed inside a paper bag when found by children, who were paid to clean the area by a land owner.
The children thought it was just a gift that had fallen off.
The police have yet to find out who left the fetus in the area.
Busay Councilman Kevin Sanchez, in a Facebook post, expressed outrage over the incident.
“Sa ginikanan ani’ng bataa, hinaot ikaw ma gabaan sa imong gibuhat (I hope karma will come to whoever are the parents of this baby),” he said.
To prevent unwanted pregnancies, he also reminded the youth to be responsible.
“Sa mga batan-on, hinaot di ninyo apil-apilon sa inyong pagka-boang ang usa ka kinabuhi (To the youth out there, I hope they spare their babies from their misdeeds),” he said.
As of this writing, Sanchez’s FB post garnered around 350 reactions, 98 comments, and 144 shares.
The baby’s body was brought to Saint Francis Funeral Homes on C. Padilla Street in Cebu City. — David E Mesias (FREEMAN)
