CEBU, Philippines — At least 11,000 children enjoyed the two-day Kiddie Land, a treat for kids initiated by the Lapu-Lapu City Government in Hoopsdome.

Some magic shows, free rides such as karting, pony rides, and different kinds of inflatables were enjoyed by the children since Saturday until yesterday.

Its first leg was conducted in Olango Island last December 15.

About 9,000 Olango children went to the Kiddie Land and their recreational rides down to the food stalls were also served for free.

The activity, which is done every year, is in line with the city government's Christmas celebration for kids, wherein they believe the season is for the children.

While waiting for their children, the parents were treated to make-up booth, massage, and hair cut for free.

Mayor Paz Radaza was present in both activities and where happy that the children, who came from various barangays, enjoyed the rides and the freebies.

"No amount of money can replace their happiness. They're always my inspiration to do better things for the City," she said.

There were also emergency responders on standby just in case there will be untoward incidents but none of the children was hurt or injured.

The setting up of the Kiddie Land started back in 2012.

Last year, at least 20,987 children enjoyed the Kiddie Land. (FREEMAN)
