Oyao kin shot dead after court hearing

CEBU, Philippines — Another member of the Oyao brothers was shot dead by two unidentified assailants on board a motorcycle in New Sangi Road, Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City yesterday morning.

 

Paquito Oyao, 60, a resident of Barangay Agus, Lapu-Lapu City, succumbed to several gunshot wounds to the different parts of his body, including his chest, resulted to his instantaneous death.

Senior Police Officer 1 Mer Acebron of the Gun-ob Police Station said that Oyao was driving his Gray Suzuki Swift together with his daughter, Janisa Oyao Cortes, 35, on their way home from a court hearing when the suspects shot them.

Cortes suffered a gunshot wound to her arm and was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital while the suspects sped off to an unknown direction.

Recovered from the area were eight empty shells of caliber .45.

The police are still conducting further investigation to determine the possible motive of the shooting.

Liloan Shooting

Meanwhile in Liloan, Cebu, a 44-year-old man was shot dead by a “riding-in-tandem” on his way home coming from work in Sitio Capulay, Barangay Tayud yesterday morning.

The fatality was identified by the police as Mario Mendoza, a resident of Barangay Umapad, Mandaue City.

Senior Police Officer 3 Andrew Rellanos said the two assailants flagged down the victim and shot  him several times resulting in his immediate death. — GAN (FREEMAN)
