Entoma to assume as new MCPO chief
CEBU, Philippines — Senior Superintendent Julian Entoma, the Regional Operations and Plans Division of PRO-7, will assume as the chief of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) starting today, replacing Senior Superintendent Roberto Alanas.
Alanas has finished his tour of duty for two years with MCPO.
Entoma has a short stint at MCPO when he was installed as officer-in-charge in 2015, replacing former chief Petronelli Baldebrin.
Mandaue Mayor Gabriel Luis Quisumbing, when sought for comments, said he is satisfied with the performance of Alanas and he is quite saddened by his reassignment, although the mayor understands that this change of command is part of the PNP policy.
"Yes, he did a very good job. We are still very satisfied with the job Col. Alanas did in Mandaue City," Quisumbing said.
Quisumbing is thankful for Alanas leading the MCPO because, under his leadership, the index crimes decreased in the city.
In 2017, Quisumbing said the index crimes were low at 37 percent.
"In 2018, it went (down) further to 15 percent," Quisumbing said.
Alanas, on the other hand, said he is thankful to the Mandauehanons for supporting the MCPO and its efforts against crime and illegal drugs.
The war on drugs was among the highlights under his command, as the MCPO became the number one top performer of the PNP's Oplan Double Barrel and Oplan Double Barrel Bravo.
"That's already great enough at tuwang-tuwa ako at natapos na ang misyon natin," Alanas said.
He added that he will miss the Mandauehanons for sure, the Cebuanos in general.
Last week, Senior Superintendent Limuel Obon has assumed as the new chief of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, replacing Senior Superintendent Rommel Cabagnot.
Cabagnot and Alanas will report at the Police Regional Office-7 while waiting for their next assignment. (FREEMAN)
