CEBU, Philippines — As parties for the Christmas season and the Sinulog festivities abound, the Police Regional Office (PRO)-7 is also preoccupied with the move to prevent party drugs from penetrating in the city.

PRO-7 Chief Jose Mario Espino encouraged bar and restaurant owners, as well as event and party organizers, to actively coordinate with the PNP if they suspect that party drugs are about to get circulated. He said they’ve already received reports regarding the occurrence of party drugs in Cebu City.

“It is highly encouraged (among) owners of restaurants and bars to report to the PNP if they have knowledge on this circulation of these party drugs in their establishment. Walang maidudulot ito na maganda kung papayagan ito nila sa establishment nila,” Espino said.

Meanwhile, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) -7 Director Emerson Margate said that they are also closely monitoring the occurrence of party drugs in Cebu specifically in parties and big events.

Superintendent Artemio Ricabo, Deputy City Director for Administration of Cebu City Police Office, assured that they will help the PDEA -7 in the intelligence monitoring and also conducting operations in relation to party drugs. —/GAN (FREEMAN)
