CEBU, Philippines – A 15-year-old boy was apprehended by police in a buy-bust operation in District 5, Barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion, Cebu Saturday evening.
Senior Inspector Romeo Caacoy, Jr. of Consolacion Police Station said they arrested the teenager around 10 p.m. after a police decoy negotiated with him for the sale of a pack of shabu.
The operation was coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7 and the station's Municipal Drug Enforcement Unit.
Caacoy said the minor attempted to escape after the police poseur buyer announced his arrest, but other policemen monitoring the transactions managed to prevent him from fleeing.
The minor, he said, yielded three small sachets and a medium pack of suspected shabu as well as the P200 marked money used in the transaction.
Police Officer 1 Macro Lanurias of Consolacion Police Station, the minor was still under their custody as of yesterday.
"Dia pa dinhi sa among selda pero wala namo siya giipon sa mga dagko (nga mga detainees)," he said.
The minor will face a criminal complaint for violation Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
Lanurias said the minor will be turned over to the town's Municipal Social Welfare and Development for assessment, while the evidence seized from him were submitted to the PNP Crime Laboratory for examination. —/RHM (FREEMAN)
