Iranian nabbed for molesting hotel OJT trainee

CEBU, Philippines - An Iranian national was arrested after he allegedly molested a college student inside a hotel room in Cebu City last Thursday.

Arrested was Asghar Chorbanbidgoli Abbas, 58, married and a tourist from Tehran, Iran.

The 20-year-old victim, whose name is being withheld considering the nature of the case, is a student of Cebu Technological University-Danao City and is an on-the-job trainee of the hotel where Abbas was temporarily staying.

According to the investigation, the victim was on duty last Thursday and was about to log out when Abbas allegedly called her to his room.

When the victim entered the room, Abbas offered her snacks.

Just then, Abbas allegedly held the victim on her shoulders, dragged her and kissed her on the lips.

The victim ran towards the door but the foreigner caught her and kissed her again.

She pushed Abbas away and was able to run towards her OJT supervisor to whom she asked for help.

The Iranian national was immediately arrested by the security guard of the establishment and was turned over to the police.

The victim, accompanied by her family, said they will be filing a case against the Iranian national possibly for acts of lasciviousness.

The suspect is now detained at the Tourist Police Unit. (FREEMAN)
