CEBU, Philippines - A Unified Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council composed of 15 barangays under the jurisdiction of Police Station 4 or Mabolo Police Station was created by the Association of Barangay Councils to strengthen the fight against illegal drugs.

ABC vice president and Apas Barangay Captain Ramil Ayuman said the creation of the unified council was based on the mandate given to the barangays by the Department of Interior and Local Government.

Ayuman said the council will facilitate proper coordination between barangay officials and the police in the anti-illegal drugs operations.

Ayuman added it was also part of the Memorandum of Agreement that the ABC earlier entered into with the Cebu City Police Office.

The Unified Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council is composed of Barangays Apas, Banilad, Carreta, Kasambagan, Hipodromo, Lahug, Luz, Mabolo, Babag, Busay, Bonbon, Boot, Malubog, Pung-ol Sibugay, and Tabonan. (FREEMAN)
