CEBU, Philippines - The Lapu-Lapu City Traffic Management Systems has intensified its campaign against traffic violators in the city.
CTMS chief Frank Brazil said he was instructed by Mayor Paz Radaza to conduct random operations resulting in the apprehensions of at least 10 motorcycles and eight tricycles last Friday.
The operation was in coordination with the personnel of the Land Transportation Office-7.
Brazil said the operation last Friday was conducted at the corner of General Aviation Road in Barangay Basak from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"Different ilaha'ng violations. Kanang walay registration, walay franchise, ang ilaha'ng side mirror defective, wearing slippers and no driver's license," Brazil said.
There were also colorum units apprehended by the LTO-7 operatives. Brazil vowed to sustain the operation in the coming weeks. Apprehended units are now impounded at the LTO-7.
Brazil also reminded all tricycle drivers to observe proper dress code. He said tricycle drivers are required to wear polo shirt, long pants and shoes for them to be more presentable to the passengers.
The CTMS chief has observed that most tricycle drivers in the city do not wear proper clothes. Brazil said most of them only wear sandals, slippers and short pants.
"Naa mi resolution sa board ‘nya amo i-forward sa City Council," Brazil said. (FREEMAN)
