2 killed in road mishaps

CEBU, Philippines - Two men died in separate motorcycle accidents in Toledo City and Naga City Monday night and yesterday morning.

In Toledo, the driver of a tricycle for hire met his untimely death when his vehicle collided with a motorcycle in Barangay Sangi, Toledo City Monday night.

A witness to the accident told the police that the tricycle, driven by Fedel Repdos  Jr., 27, was heading toward Toledo City proper when it tried to drive past another vehicle. In so doing, the tricycle rammed into the motorcycle driven by one Dario Dumdum. 55, which was traveling the opposite direction.

Repdos, Dumdum, and Repdos' passenger, Felisima Dumdum, were brought to the Toledo City General Hospital but Repdos did not make it there alive. Dumdum and Felisima are being treated for their injuries.  A few hours later in Naga town, a certain Mario Panuncial died when the motorcycle he was riding slammed into a car driven by one Kirk Cabriana.

Investigation revealed that the motorcycle Panuncial was riding was driven by one Nicaso Cabido. They were travelling to Cebu City from San Fernando town when Cabido allegedly lost control of the motorcycle, causing Panuncial to be thrown off the vehicle.

Panuncial fell to the pavement and was hit by the Nissan Navarra driven by Cabriana.  Both Panuncial and Cabido were brought to the South General Hospital in Naga City but Panuncial was declared dead on arrival.

Panuncial and Cabido are residents of San Fernando town.
