CH honors outstanding officials, workers

CEBU, Philippines - In line with the month-long celebration of Cebu City’s 79th Charter Day, the city government has recognized its “outstanding” officials and employees as well as offices for exemplary performance.

Lawyer Rey Cris Panugaling and Engineer Dionesio Gualisa were awarded most outstanding department heads in the frontline services and support cluster, respectively.

Lucia Mahusay and Loida Antonio were chosen outstanding assistant department heads for frontline services and support cluster, respectively. Raquel Arce, head of the Prevention, Restoration, Order, Beautification and Enhancement, was recognized as outstanding division head. Anecito Suico of the Department of Social Welfare and Services was also named outstanding section head.

The outstanding rank-and-file employees were Gloria Labiste, Boy Jumel Ejercito, Nestor Bordalba, Jounald Bautista, and Domingo Biongco.

The mayor’s  special awardees were lawyer Rafael Yap, Rogelio Osmeña, Joel Dela Cerna, Diwa Cuevas, Ester Concha, lawyer Collin Rosell, lawyer Dominic Diño, Julie Ann Villanueva, Gina Jagmoc, Ceremedes Tindoy,  Alsaphero Go, Dennis Navarro, Jordan Aznar, Roberto Varquez, Harold Alcontin,  Guillermo Viola, Ma. Suzanne Ardosa, Juvelyn Montecillo, Belinda Navasquez, lawyer Jerone Castillo, Dr. Daisy Villa, Alvin Santillana, Elmer Labella, Simeon Romarate, Jack Rallos, lawyer Jose Marie Poblete, Engineer Apollo Dante, Grace Luardo, and Marilou Alferez.

The Cebu City Transportation Office was also awarded as outstanding department.

The awarding was held Saturday night at the Parklane International Hotel.

“Don’t just work because you’ll be given an award. You work and get noticed and you’ll be given the award. And the most important thing is always bring the bar higher,” said Mayor Michael Rama.

Rama also thanked the City Hall employees for providing real service to the public and urged those who did not receive the award this year to strive more. — (FREEMAN)
