CEBU, Philippines - The P40 million road concreting project in Camotes Islands that is reported in the Department of Public Works and Highways website as 100 percent complete as of September 9, 2015 has not actually started.
This prompted the Muni-cipal Council of Tudela to request DPWH through the 5th District Engineering Office to investigate the matter. The project, concreting of a road that stretches from the town of Tudela to the towns of Poro and San Francisco, has been awarded to Ven Ray Construction Corporation.
On December 16, 2015, the Tudela Municipal Council led by Vice Mayor Greman Solante passed a resolution requesting the DPWH to conduct an investigation into the project following inquiries by some residents.
“There is a need to inform the people of Tudela, Cebu regarding the project referred above,” read the council resolution.
Copies of the resolution and screenshot of the DPWH website publication of the Status Report of the project were submitted to DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson, regional director Ador Canlas and Cebu fifth district Representative Joseph “Ace” Durano.
Canlas told The Freeman that he has not yet received the copy of the resolution. Canlas referred The Freeman to district engineer Yusoph Rasuman, who did not answer calls and text messages. (FREEMAN)
