CEBU, Philippines – At least P12,000 cash and a box of anti-psychotic drugs were taken by a burglar who broke into the office of the chief of Pinamungajan District Hospital Friday morning.
The burglar, believed to be the one earlier seen roaming around the hospital, barged into the office of Dr. Feleus Bascon.
Ocular investigation showed that the burglar gained entry into the doctor's office by destroying the screen and the window of the comfort room located at the back of the office.
Once inside, the burglar destroyed the drawer of Bascon's table and took the P12,000 cash, the drugs, a knife, as well as the payment slips of patients.
The burglary was discovered at around 10 a.m.
According to Police Officer 1 Ian Patrick Carvillida of Pinamungajan Police Station, prior to the discovery of the burglary, a security guard of the hospital noticed a suspicious man inside the hospital.
The man is reportedly a noted thief.
The man had no business at the hospital since he neither had a relative confined in there nor was he a patient.
Carvillida said they are now looking into the possible involvement of the said suspect.
The police have lifted latent finger prints from the crime scene that will be used in the investigation.
The hospital is now tightening its security following the burglary. —/NSA (FREEMAN)
