CEBU, Philippines - An initial amount of P1 million was raised from the two-day concert organized by the Archdiocese of Cebu, a church official confirmed.
Msgr. Ruben Labajo, officer of the concert’s executive committee, said they were not yet able to account fully the proceeds of the concert since other parishes in distant areas are yet to remit their respective collections.
Tickets were sold at P1,000, P500, and P300 in different parishes in Cebu.
All the proceeds will be used to help fund the preparations for the 51st International Eucharistic Congress on January 24 to 31 next year. The international congress is expected to gather at least 15,000 delegates from different parts of the world.
Around 3,000 people trooped to IEC Pavilion in Mabolo, Cebu City to witness the concert of the Cebu Clergy, dubbed as “400 Priests of Cebu in Concert: Faith, Love and Songs.”
The concert, which featured the best of praise and worship music and other selected contemporary music, was held on November 26 and 27. (FREEMAN)
