Motorcycle collision kills driver, injures 1
CEBU, Philippines - A motorcycle driver died while another was injured after a collision Monday morning in Barangay Cambanay, Danao City.
Porferio Batucan Entero, 59, of Barangay Cagat, Danao City, was declared dead at Cebu Provincial Hospital in Danao City while Romeo Cagang Jr., 26, of Barangay Triumfu, Carmen, was transported to a hospital in Cebu City.
PO2 Rommel Custan, duty traffic investigator of Danao City Traffic Office, said Entero came from Barangay Poblacion and was on his way home when he collided with another motorcycle driven by Cagang in Sitio Pag-utlan, Barangay Cambanay.
“Katong namatay gikan sa syudad sa Danao padulong mouli sa Cagat, ang usa gikan sa ilang balay padulong mo-ari sa simbahan mo-substitute sa gwardya nga mo-leave,” Custan said.
Because of the impact of the collision both drivers were thrown off their motorcycles.
Meanwhile, a German national was arrested in Barangay Looc, Santander after the motorcycle he was riding hit a 16-year-old girl on Monday.
Frank Siegert, 55, was taken into police custody but was later released after the family of the victim agreed to a settlement. Siegert promised to shoulder all the medical expenses.
SPO3 Manuel Regulacion, desk officer of Santander Police Station, said the foreigner was on his way to Dumaguete City when he bumped the minor who was crossing the highway.— (FREEMAN)
