Mylen P. Manto - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines- A 24-year-old man was indicted for alleged voyeurism after he was caught filming his employer’s daughter while in the shower.

Dante Ybañez, resident of Barangay Apas, Cebu City, will face trial for violation of Section 10(a) of Republic Act 7610 otherwise known as the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.

Posecutor Rhodna Alcala-Bacatan has found probable cause against Ybañez and recommended P80,000 bail for his temporary liberty.

The FREEMAN is withholding the name of the complainant due to the nature of the case.

The 17-year-old victim said she was taking a shower at 11:45 a.m. on September 4, 2015 when she noticed a gold cellphone with camera aimed at her.

The victim said she saw the accused hurriedly left when she tried to reach and grab the cellphone.

“I tried to hit him but instead I barely reached him and the phone. I was very ashamed and furious thereby, I called my mom and dad in tears and in fear of what had just happened,” the affidavit read.

The parents of the victim immediately called for police assistance resulting in the arrest of the suspect. The accused allegedly admitted to the crime but had already deleted the video in his cellphone.  (FREEMAN)
