Salesman loses cash to robbers

CEBU, Philippines - A salesman lost close to P26,000 in cash and valuable Friday afternoon to three unidentified robbers in Barangay Buanoy, Balamban.

The victim, John Rey Nadela Malayu, 36, reported to the police station after three armed robbers allegedly divested him of his sales and valuables at gunpoint.

One of the robbers was allegedly wearing a black sweatshirt with a “CIDG” marking in front.

Malayu, salesman at RENICA Traders Inc., said he was transacting with a customer at Sheen Store in Barangay Buanoy when the robbers arrived on two motorcycles.

The driver of the XRM motorcycle stands about 5’8”, wearing black jacket, black jeans and black helmet while his back rider was about 5’5” in height, wearing skinny jeans and a sweatshirt with “CIDG” marking.

The driver of the second motorcycle was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and black helmet.

The driver and the back rider of the first motorcycle alighted and bought two bottles of mineral water from the store while the other driver remained on his motorcycle.

Soon after they got the mineral water, the third motorcycle rider pulled out an undetermined caliber of handgun and declared a holdup while the two who pretended to be customers took his sales worth P11,000 and a cellular phone worth P15,000.

The robbers fled towards Balamban town proper. The police are still conducting investigation to identify the robbers. —  (FREEMAN)
