CEBU, Philippines - A technical problem has forced Cebu Pacific to cancel a flight from Cebu to Cagayan de Oro City and its return flight yesterday morning.
In a statement, Cebu Pacific said that flights 5J 203 and 204 Cebu-Cagayan de Oro-Cebu have been cancelled because the assigned aircraft has experienced a technical problem.
The airline management said that the passengers of the cancelled flights were re-accommodated in the next available flights. Those who opted for rebooking were also accommodated free of charge.
Estee Marie Plunket, corporate affairs head of GMR-Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation, said the flight 5J 203 left the airport at 8:05 a.m. but returned 20 minutes after due to technical problem. The flight has 155 passengers on board.
Meanwhile, another Cebu Pacific flight from Cebu also experienced a minor problem yesterday morning but landed safely at the Iloilo airport.
One of the plane's engine was allegedly hit by a bird while the pilot prepares for landing. The flight has 60 passengers.— (FREEMAN)
