3 men nabbed for illegal drugs
CEBU, Philippines - Three men were arrested while two others eluded arrest in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Cebu last Wednesday.
In a buy-bust operation in Barangay Cantuod, Balamban town, suspects Christuffer Mantuhac, 18, and Pio Manegos, 41, were arrested while Rutchel Artajo, the subject of the operation, eluded arrest.
Artajo was reportedly supposed to hand over a pack of shabu worth P200 to a poseur-buyer when he allegedly sensed that he was transacting with a police officer and ran away.
The police failed to catch up with him and instead arrested his companion Manegos, who yielded two packs of shabu.
The police managed to confiscate Artajo’s motorcycle and cal. 38 revolver with ammunition.
Mantuhac, who was reportedly found inside Artajo’s house that allegedly served as a drug den, was also arrested.
In a separate operation in Barangay Poblacion, Danao City, 31-year-old Ronald Laguna was arrested after he was caught transacting shabu with another man.
As per investigation, personnel of Danao Police Station were patrolling the area when they saw Laguna and another man apparently transacting something.
They suspect that it was illegal drugs, prompting the police to swoop down on the two. Laguna’s companion, however, escaped.
Laguna, who yielded a pack of shabu, was brought to the police station and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (FREEMAN)
