Fire hits Tabogon school
CEBU, Philippines - Some students in Tabogon town will return to school today without a classroom after a fire razed a two-classroom building of Don Esteban Nolasco Memorial National High School in Barangay Samosa last Saturday.
Police Officer 3 Jesus Rios, desk officer of Tabogon Police Station, said the fire has destroyed the school library and a classroom with several computer sets, television, gas stove, liquefied petroleum gas tank, and several documents.
Rios said that the Bogo City Fire Station was first to respond to the fire alarm at 4 a.m.
He said the town’s fire truck was not able to respond because it is currently unserviceable.
“Naa’y fire truck gi-parking diri sir, gubaon mani, ang drayber naa rapud nagtrabaho sa munisipyo, naa’y fire truck pero wala’y fire station,” Rios told The Freeman.
Rios said the fire investigator is yet to determine the cause of fire and the amount of damage. How-ever, the school principal, Noel Usad, said the damage could reach up to P1.8 million. (FREEMAN)
