Cebu City generally peaceful

CEBU, Philippines - Apart from an alarm of a drunk person who reportedly made trouble, the Cebu City Police Office said no crimes were recorded yesterday during the fight of Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao against Chris Algieri.

The Mobile Patrol Group received an alarm of a drunk person yesterday noon and was responded by Guadalupe Police Station personnel since it was under their jurisdiction.

    The Theft and Robbery Section also did not receive a single report on a crime during the fight.

 The Traffic Patrol Group noted four vehi-cular accidents though after 12 p.m. involving taxicabs and public uti-lity jeepneys. One was reportedly injured in one of the accidents, said Senior Police Officer 4 Ramon Breman Bodio-ngan. 

But apart from which, the police said that city was generally peaceful, as expected, since most were watching the televised fight.

Pacquiao won against Christopher Algieri, who suffered his first loss in a unanimous decision in Cotai Arena, the Venetian Hotel in Macao.  (FREEMAN)
