CEBU, Philippines - Eighteen small packs of suspected shabu were confiscated by the police in separate anti-illegal drug operations across Cebu province in the past three days.
Eddie Suico, 21; Wilfredo Gejolin, 27; and Zosimo Empormado, 27, were caught by the police allegedly having a pot session in an open hut on Juan Luna Street, Poblacion, Danao City yesterday dawn.
Three small packs of suspected shabu, one strip of tin foil, one improvised tooter and a disposable lighter were recovered from the three suspects.
They are currently detained at Danao Police Station.
Meanwhile, Allan Empic, 31, was apprehended by the police in a buy-bust operation at Sitio Kayapuk-yapokan, Barangay Manlapay, Dalaguete, Cebu Wednesday morning.
Ten small sachets of suspected shabu, P400 buy-bust money, one disposable lighter, one big roll of tin foil and several other drug paraphernalia were recovered from Empic’s possession.
In a separate incident, Esteban Ortega, also known as “Kolokoy” and “Tonton,” was arrested by the police in an operation in Barangay Sambag, Bogo City Wednesday afternoon.
Recovered from Ortega’s possession were two small sachets of suspected shabu, P200 buy-bust money and P200 cash believed to be his proceeds of the illegal drug trade.
On the same day, Raymond Ancajas, 28, was arrested after personally handing one small pack of suspected shabu to a police-poseur buyer in Sitio Balintawak, Barangay Kawit, Medellin, Cebu Wednesday evening.
The police confiscated from Ancajas one small pack of suspected shabu, P200 buy-bust money, P200 believed to be his proceeds, two pieces of folded tin foils, one mobile phone and three pieces of disposable lighter.
Separately, around P2,400 worth of illegal drugs were recovered by the Oslob Police Station from Daniel Figuration, 30, and Melchor “Caloy” Quimat, 34, who are both residents of Barangay Pungtod, Oslob, Cebu.
Police seized two pieces of small packs of suspected shabu and four pieces of aluminum foil from Figuration while four small sachets of suspected shabu and P500 buy-bust money were confiscated from Quimat.
The buy-bust operation was conducted at 10:30 p.m. last Tuesday in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7.
Police received information that Quimat and Figuration are engaged in selling illegal drugs in the area.
The eight suspects arrested in separate anti-illegal drugs operations shall face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. — (FREEMAN)
