CEBU, Philippines - A policeman arrested a man he caught brandishing a firearm that the suspect earlier used in pointing at a minor in Barangay Tungkop, Minglanilla on Wednesday.

Recovered from the suspect, Larry Palermo, 20, a resident of Barangay Tunghaan, was a cal. 38 revolver (paltik).

Prior to the suspect’s arrest, he allegedly pointed the gun to a 15-year-old boy who was standing outside a store at 6:30 p.m. while watching his friends play computer games.

The suspect reportedly arrived onboard a motorcycle and pointed the gun at the boy.

Palermo parked his motorcycle then instructed the boy to walk towards the direction of his vehicle.

It was at this juncture that Police Officer 1 Neil Villaceran, 39, passed by and saw the suspect brandishing his firearm, prompting the policeman to arrest the suspect and confiscate the gun from his possession.

Police Officer 2 Vincent Alinavo of Minglanilla Police Station said the suspect and the boy have not been in good terms.

Allegedly, the boy, together with his friends, teased Palermo which angered the suspect.  The suspect and his motorcycle were taken to the police station.

He will be facing charges for violation of the RA 10951, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.  (FREEMAN)
