CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested a man who yielded a firearm and at least P220,000 worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tuburan Sur, Danao City on Wednesday.
Suspect Jenson Lawas, 35, was arrested by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Jerry Dicdican of the Regional Trial Court Branch 25 in Danao City.
Before implementing the warrant, personnel of Danao City Police Station-Anti Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group led by Senior Inspector Amadeo Roldan Pepito coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7.
During the buy-bust operation past 7 a.m., the team utilized a P500 bill supposedly to pay Lawas in exchange for a pack of shabu.
The police confiscated the pack of illegal drugs from Lawas and implemented shortly the search warrant at the suspect’s house.
Inside, the team found a large pack of suspected shabu weighing 16.5 grams, one medium-size pack of the same substance weighing 2.5 grams amounting to P225 388, a weighing scale, a plastic film sealer, a glass LED digital scale, a disposable lighter and a scissor.
Further seized were a cal. 45 pistol and eight live ammunition, three mobile phones, two pieces of P1000 bill, and other bills in different denominations believed to be proceeds from the suspect’s illegal drug activities. (FREEMAN)
