Ten nabbed for shabu, guns in various operations
CEBU, Philippines - Ten people were arrested in separate anti-illegal drugs operations in Cebu City and Cebu province recently.
Four of the suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Cebu City, two of whom yielded firearms.
Operatives of the City Intelligence Branch led by Inspector Gomersendo Mandawe arrested one Dennis Tocao in a buy-bust operation conducted in his house along Tambis Street, Barangay Sambag Dos at 3 a.m. yesterday.
Police swooped down on him immediately after he handed over a pack of shabu worth P100 to a CIB operative.
He was frisked and police found a big plastic pack containing 47 sachets of suspected shabu from him.
Police also arrested Tocao’s brother Efren, 21, and Robert Dondoy, 22, after a cal. 38 revolver with three live ammos were each found from their possession.
Along B. Rodriguez St., still in Barangay Sambag Dos, one Menchie Isidro, 20, was also nabbed after police recovered several drug paraphernalia from him.
In Bogo City, one Richard Giylan, 25, was arrested after he sold a pack of shabu worth P300 to a police poseur-buyer in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pandan.
The shabu pack, the P300 buy-bust money, and another P200 believed to be proceeds of his illegal drug activity, and a mobile phone were recovered from the suspect.
In Argao town, suspects Jofrey Alburo, 31, Santos Famat, 27, Oliver Famat, 27, and Jay Saquilon, 38, were arrested after police caught them sniffing shabu in Barangay Tulic last Monday afternoon.
Three small packs of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia were confiscated from the suspects.
In Barangay Guadalupe, Carcar City, one Bryan “Bahaw” Fernandez, 26, was arrested after police officers recovered five small packs of suspected shabu he allegedly threw away before he was flagged down in a checkpoint at past 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
Investigation showed that the suspect was driving a motorcycle when he noticed that police personnel from Carcar City Police were conducting a checkpoint.
Police Officer 1 Miguelito Abadilla saw the suspect threw something to the ground before the latter was flagged down for the checkpoint.
Police officers checked the said object on the ground and found out that it was a black pouch that contained five small packs of suspected shabu.
The suspect was then arrested and brought to Carcar City Police Station. — (FREEMAN)
