CEBU, Philippines - Three suspected drug pushers were arrested Friday in Toledo City during a buy-bust operation conducted by the members of the Cebu Provincial Police Office, resulting in the seizure of at least P1.2 million worth of illegal drugs.
Joint operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Branch, Provincial Investigation Detection Management Branch, and the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group arrested Nestor Viloria Pagdalian, Alexis Velayo, and Charlie Mandaue at past 5 p.m. in Sitio Luray Dos, Barangay Poblacion.
The policemen recovered over 100 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P1,189,559 from the suspects. Aside from illegal drugs, the police also seized a caliber .22 magnum revolver and a caliber .38 revolver.
The suspects will be facing criminal complaints for violation of Section 5 and Section 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and violation of R.A. 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Weapons and Ammunition.
Meanwhile, laboratory tests conducted on suspected “fly high” drugs confiscated by the agents of the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency-7 Thursday evening yielded a positive result.
PDEA-7 planning and operations division chief Mark Dave Maramba said that the samples submitted for laboratory examinations tested positive of “fly high” drugs.
The illegal drugs were confiscated from Jose Raphael Dizon and Richard Tan during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City Thursday evening.
Maramba said a total of P100,500 worth of “fly high” drugs were seized from the two suspects who were also arrested during the operation. According to Maramba, the suspects have been placed under surveillance since March.
