Ex-BIN member, another nabbed for shabu, guns
CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested two men with firearms and illegal drugs in separate operations last Thursday.
In Barangay Jubay, Liloan, 27-year-old Louwel Dinopol, a former member of the Barangay Intelligence Network, was arrested for possession of suspected shabu and at least two firearms, one of which he allegedly used in pointing at his live-in partner Eden Montonou.
Liloan police led by their acting chief, Senior Inspector Ramil Morpos, confiscated from Dinopol a cal. 22 rifle, a cal. 45 pistol, 42 live ammunition of cal. 22 rifle, one magazine for a cal. 45 pistol and 17 more live ammunition. Three small packs of suspected shabu were also seized from the suspect’s house.
According to Police Officer 1 Bobby Capampangan, intelligence officer of Liloan Police, the couple figured in an argument prior to the incident.
“Ingun ni Louwel, aduna kuno ni giselosan iyang ka-live-in partner kay nakit-an man kuno ni siya nga naay kauban nga laing babaye,” said Capampangan.
The suspect allegedly got annoyed by his live-in partner’s allegation and then pointed a gun at her. Eden rushed to the police station and reported the incident.
The police immediately responded and arrested Dinopol, who did not resist.
Upon initial investigation, police learned that the suspect was a BIN member but was terminated due to the allegation that he was a drug addict.
Police discovered that the suspect’s firearms were not licensed.
“Ingun siya lisensyado kuno iyang mga armas unya pang-self defense ra pud kuno to niya,” said Capampangan. “Kaning shabu nakit’an rani namo sa panimalay sa suspek. Pagpangutana namo, pinalit ra kuno ni niya para pang konsumo,” he added.
