CEBU, Philippines - After several involvements of policemen in crimes, the Cebu City Police Office is set to start on Monday the Character Aptitude Development Program (CADEP) among Cebu City police personnel.

CCPO Director Senior Superintendent Noli Romana said that the training is aimed to refresh the policemen on the ethics on police service.

“This is to remind and refresh everyone on the ideals of our service at para ibalik ang ating kapolisan on the right track,” Romana said.

The training was realized after several city policemen were allegedly linked to crimes such as killings and illegal drug trade.

Around 30 policemen will compose the first batch of participants in the program, said Romana.

“Meron pa tayong mga hindi pa nasali sa listahan pero surely they will be able to undergo the training”, Romana said.

CADEP will be focusing on physical fitness, law enforcements, as well as values formation, bringing the police officers to a higher level of spirituality, in which they have tapped the church for the teachings.

The program was also designed to help out obese policemen and in consonance with the Performance Government System.

“I hope after the training, maibalik natin sa tamang ayos ang ating mga kapolisan and they will have a mindset na ito ay hindi lamang trabaho, ito ay bokasyon,” Romana said. —/ATO (FREEMAN)
