CEBU, Philippines - Three members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines have been slapped with sanctions for acting inappropriately in public.
One of them allegedly pointed his service firearm at a security guard last April at the Mango Square along General Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City.
According to Lieutenant Commander Jim Aris Alagao of the Central Command, the three officers will face the consequences of their actions and will be punished accordingly.
Leand Bryce Nemil Aujero, Levy Dela Cruz and Aljun Diocana, all Private First Class Officers, will be demoted from their ranks and will be re-assigned to Mindanao after they will undergo 181 days of confinement.
“We will not tolerate violations among regulations,” Alagao said.
Alagao said that even though the offense of one of the officers was not proven in the gun pointing incident because of a settlement, the officers will face an administrative case for conduct unbecoming a military officer.
“Ang ilahang admin punishment tungod to sa ilang gibuhat nga pagpaka-uwaw sa public nga nag dala-dala pa gyud og service fire arms,” Alagao said.
The three officers are currently confined at the CENTCOM office and are temporarily taken off the pay grade.
On April 15, they were having a drinking spree and were later involved in a commotion with responding police officers. —/ATO (FREEMAN)
