Cabrera seeks funding to renew19 JO workers

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu City Councilor Nida Cabrera is requesting Mayor Michael Rama include in the next supplemental budget the salaries of job order personnel assigned at the Parks and Playground Commission.

Cabrera said the commission needs P844, 800 to renew the 19 job order workers whose contracts will expire this month.

“Currently, there are 19 job personnel nga naghuwat i-renew,” Cabrera said.

Cabrera said these job order workers will take charge in the maintenance of parks, plazas, and monuments in the city. They will be paid out under the “Augmentation of Parks and Playgrounds Maintenance” project.

According to Cabrera, the amount will already cover the salaries of the workers from July to December.

“Since dugay-dugay ang six months unya daghan sila. Also for us to ensure nga nindot gyud pagkadala ang mga lugar na dapat nila i-maintain,” she added.

Cabrera said these workers are needed to ensure the propagation of plants for the upcoming Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit this year and the International Eucharistic Congress in 2016. —/FPL (FREEMAN)
