CEBU, Philippines - In a span of 12 hours, at least four persons were killed in separate shooting incidents in Cebu.
At 8:45 a.m. on Labor Day, Joselito Condiman, 20, of Barangay Canduling, Ronda, died after he was shot and sustained wounds to his armpit and head.
According to Senior Police Officer 3 Roger Incipido, Police Officer 3 Bertoldo Mansueto and Police Officer 3 Jesael Anchita, the victim was allegedly shot by a certain Tito Tabada, 33, for unknown reason.
Tabada was reportedly a resident of Punta Princesa, Cebu City but was temporarily living with his relatives in Barangay Canduling.
The police said while the victim was staying at the store, the suspect suddenly appeared and shot him.
The victim was brought to Barili District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
A hot pursuit operation was conducted by the authorities against the suspect.
Three hours later, Julius Benites, 41, and Simbrod Sobremonte, 40, both residents of Toledo City, were shot to death by unidentified armed men around 12:30 p.m. at Bato Cemetery, Barangay Bato, Toledo City.
Both victims are workers at a power plant.
Initial investigation conducted by the authorities revealed that the victims were shot several times by the gunmen who were wearing helmet and riding a color black motorcycle.
Sobremonte sustained gunshot wounds to his head and back. Benitez has gunshot wounds to his left cheek, head, back and right waist.
Investigation is now being conducted by the authorities to determine the motive of the killing.
At 8:55 p.m., Romeo Luba, 32, a resident of Barangay Day-as, Cordova, died after he was shot by three unidentified men.
Police investigation disclosed that the victim was driving his trisikad when three unidentified men fired at him.
Prior to the incident, the police said the victim was having an altercation with an unidentified person.
The police are now conducting further investigation to determine the motive of the killing. —/LPM (FREEMAN)
