CEBU, Philippines - A 33-year old construction foreman was stabbed dead Sunday evening by an unidentified assailant in Barangay Estaca, Compostela.
The victim, Daniel Claret, a native of Pasorio Mutya, Zamboanga del Norte, was sleeping alone in the bunkhouse when the unidentified attacker came in.
PO3 Michael Migallon, homicide investigator, said they were informed about the incident by the victim’s colleague who found his body in the bunkhouse.
Dr. Vincent Echin, municipal health officer, examined the victim and found him already dead when they arrived at the crime scene.
Echin said the victim succumbed to a stab wound in the upper quadrant of his abdomen.
Police investigators recovered from the crime scene a kitchen knife and a chisel believed to have been used by the culprit. The police are still conducting follow-up investigation to identify the person responsible and the motive. (FREEMAN)
