TF Sports off to US to cover Pacquiao fight

CEBU, Philippines - The FREEMAN sports editor Manny Villaruel will leave today for the United States to cover the highly-anticipated rematch between Filipino ring superstar Manny Pacquiao (55-5-2, 38 KOs) and the undefeated American world welterweight champion Tim Bradley (31-0, 12KOs).

Villaruel is the lone media from Cebu duly accredited to cover the event, which will take place Saturday night (Sunday, Philippine time) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Pacquiao is seeking both payback and redemption after losing by a highly controversial split decision to Bradley during their first encounter, which many perceived he clearly dominated and won two years ago, also at the MGM Grand.

The two fighters will meet on Friday (Philippine time) for the final press conference of the Top Rank-promoted show. The official weigh-in is set at 3 p.m. on Friday (Saturday morning, Philippine time).
