CEBU, Philippines - Around P480,000 worth of equipment and gadgets were carted away by robbers from the office of a professional photographer Thursday morning in Banilad, Cebu City.

Dexter Remedio Bongo, 42, has reported to the police the missing items which include two cellphones, three cameras, three camera lenses, seven camera batteries, camera flash, memory cards, card reader, camera bag, $100, and 200 Thai baht, all amounting to P480,600.

Senior Police Officer 1 Fredilson Codilla of the Crime Scene Investigation Unit said the robbery incident was discovered around 6:00 a.m.

Based on the close circuit television footage, the robber was a male in his 30s, stands about 5’2” in height, has black complexion and long hair, and was wearing ball cap, pants and rubber shoes.

The suspect could have entered the office of Bongo by passing at the upper portion of a sliding glass window that was allegedly left open.

Codilla said the two-storey building does not have any security guard making it possible for lawless elements to do their illegal activities.

CSI personnel conducted ocular inspection at the crime scene and successfully recovered four fingerprints on the window and the computer screen.

Codilla said that although they have not recovered any item used by the perpetrator, the CCTV camera clearly showed how he committed the crime.

Investigators shall enhance the CCTV footage to identify the suspect who is believed to be a resident in the nearby area and familiar with the place.

Codilla said they will also process the fingerprints recovered and eventually file charges against the perpetrator. — /GMR (FREEMAN)
