In Alcoy two women on motorcycle shot by unidentified man

CEBU, Philippines - Two women are currently in critical condition after they were shot by an unidentified person on Friday night in Alcoy, Cebu. 

 Sherilyn Lihay Lihay, 21, sustained two gunshot wounds to her back that passed through her stomach and to her right arm while “Jengjeng” Avila, 37, sustained one gunshot wound on her head. Both reside at Barangay Poblacion, Toledo City. 

Initial investigation showed that Lihay Lihay and Avila were on board a RUSI motorcycle traversing the Alegria-Alcoy provincial road. They reportedly came from Alegria and were bound for Alcoy proper.

 When they arrived at Upper Poblacion in Alcoy at around 11:40 p.m., Avila, who was driving the motorcycle, decided to go back to Alegria for an unknown reason.

 There they met an unidentified person who shot them several items.

The responding police team of the Alcoy Police Station led by PO3 Eduardo Santander and PO2 Raul Medez proceeded to the crime scene to verify the shooting incident reported by a concerned citizen.

The police found Lihay Lihay and Avila lying at the center of the road.

 The two victims were immediately rushed to the Cardinal Rosales Hospital in Dalaguete but were then transferred to one of the hospitals in Cebu City.

 Recovered from the crime scene were five empty shells of a .45 cal. pistol and two live rounds,  the RUSI motorcycle 125 CC bearing a plate number of 3207GR,  two flashlights used by the victims as their motorcycle lights and a cell phone of one of the victims.  

The Alcoy Police Station is still conducting follow-up operations against the perpetrator.  (FREEMAN)
