CEBU, Philippines - Seven graduates from Cebu schools are among the top ten of their respective board exams.
Cebu graduates performed well in this year’s Licensure Examination for Teachers given last Jan. 26, 2014. Five graduates were in the top of the elementary level exams; Pauly Mariz Recio from Cebu Normal University and Rica Alessandra Young of Cebu Technological University-Main placed fifth with an average of 87.
Mary Kenth Aceret of the University of Cebu and Jasson Singculan of the University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu Mandaue got hold of the 8th place with an average of 86.40.
Kristine Myrene Rose Sayre of the University of the Visayas placed 9th with average of 86.20 while only Carla Mae Sumalinog of the University of San Carlos made it to the top ten of the Secondary Level with 86.20.
According to the Professional Regulation Commission’s website out of 38,377 who took the elementary level exams only 11,120 passed. While out of 42,358 who took the secondary level 12,033 made it.
Meanwhile, in another board exam a USC alumnus is the lone Cebuano school graduate who made it to top ten of the Electronics Engineering Board Exam.
Dexter Nuevo got 84.70 to place 4th in the said exam.
Only 907 electronics engineering examinees of 2,574 passed. —/BRP (FREEMAN)
