‘Pimp’ faces human trafficking charges
CEBU, Philippines - A criminal complaint for human trafficking was filed yesterday before the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office against an alleged pimp who was arrested by the police Thursday night.
The Regional Intelligence Division and the Regional Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force filed the complaint against Eul Vincent Rodriguez, 27, resident of Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City.
The complaint was assigned to assistant city prosecutor Rudolph Val Carillo.
Rodriguez was arrested in an uptown hotel during an entrapment operation. He was caught in the act of pimping minor to a police decoy who pretended to be a pedophile looking for sexual services of male teenagers.
The suspect brought within a 14-year-old boy and offered his sexual services to the police decoy in exchange for P10,000. Rodriguez was immediately arrested after receiving the marked money.
According to the police, Rodriguez is on the watchlist of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He was placed under police surveillance since December after receiving reports of his illegal activities. (FREEMAN)
