Cebu school grad 6th in Mechanical board

CEBU, Philippines - Paul John Monte Pame of the Cebu Institute of Technology-University placed sixth in the Mechanical Licensure Examination as released by the Professional Regulations Commission the other day.

Pame graduated as Summa Cum Laude and 2013 Batch Valedictorian last March and was the 2013 CIT-U King of Engineers, as well.

He attended his secondary education at the New Ormoc City National High School-Special Science Class and had his internship at the Coca-Cola Bottlers Inc.

He said he was inspired by a quote by Arnold H. Glasgow who said: “Success isn’t a result of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire” to become successful.

Ian Jay Matias of Bulacan State University-Malolos topped the examination with a score of 96.20 percent followed by Alben Ibarra of Batangas State University-Batangas City in second place with 94.45 percent, Nestor Naparota Jr. of Bohol Island State University-Tagbilaran was third with 94.40 percent, Alvin Marasigan of the University of the Philippines-Diliman was fourth with 94.05 percent and Angelo Santiago of BSU-M placed fifth with 93.95 percent.

Along with Pame in the sixth place are Jordan Bagamasbad of Malayan Colleges Laguna and Arvin Bas of Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Main Sta. Mesa. They all got 93.75 percent.

Completing the top 10 are Renan Cauilan of PUP-Main Sta. Mesa with 93.70 percent, Edmar Elca of Southern Luzon State University-Lucban and Stephen Macalinga of University of Santo Tomas with 93.35 percent, Raphael Ray Macatangay of BSU-BC with 93.30 percent and Aldrin Bernardo of BSU-M with 93.20 percent.

PRC announced that 2,201 out of 3,196 passed the Mechanical Engineer Licensure Examination and 30 out of 62 passed the Certified Plant Mechanic Licensure Examination given by the Board of Mechanical Engineering in Manila, Cebu and Davao earlier this month.  (FREEMAN)
